About The Teacher
Judy Hirsh is dedicated to her yoga practice and sharing yoga through her teaching. She has been teaching in north London and South India for over ten years and finds yoga a great tonic for stressful situations. She teaches open classes, courses, workshops, and holidays. She takes yoga into health spas, offices, hospital, and one-to-one appointments.
Yoga practices can help us to find the space in which to gain physical, mental and emotional stability. She uses dynamic and restorative yoga postures, breath work, relaxation, meditation and yoga nidra (yoga sleep for deep relaxation) as well as elements of reiki, massage, shiatsu, Alexander technique and NLP to work with people of all ages and abilities.
Judy Hirsh says 'We all face situations where we feel overwhelmed by events in our lives. Personal situations can create chronic stress, feelings of confusion, negative internal dialogue and overwhelming sadness which can take hold of the body, mind and spirit.' Judy believes that yoga can have positive effects on how we view our own reality, and connect with the peaceful self within. 'All the knowledge we need is buried deep inside ourselves and yoga practices can help us to reconnect with them, restore our health and heal ourselves.'
She holds The British Wheel of Yoga teaching diploma, has studied yoga therapy with the Life Centre, Spinal Integration and other workshops with Donna Farhi, Restorative Yoga for anxiety, anger and depression with Judith Lasater, Yoga Nidra with Richard Miller, and is greatly inspired by the work of Vanda Scaravelli.
To relax is not to collapse but simply to undo tension that has accumulated in the body and mind by our struggle to achieve, ruined by all sorts of negative, destructive feelings Vanda Scaravelli
